BETA PROGRAM NOTICE This document applies to the Kompunik Beta Program, a free, invitation-only research pilot operated by Joss Gillet (Founder of Kompunik). This is an experimental prototype with no service guarantee.

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs your conduct when using the Kompunik platform, including all courses, community features, and related services (the "Service"). This Policy is part of and supplements our Terms of Use.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this Policy. Violations may result in enforcement actions up to and including permanent account termination.


1. Introduction

Kompunik is a learning community dedicated to soft skills development. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all users. This Policy sets out the rules and standards that apply to your use of the Service to protect all members of our community.


2. Prohibited Activities

You may not engage in any of the following activities when using the Service:

2.1 Credential Sharing

  • Sharing your account login credentials (username, password) with any other person
  • Allowing another person to access the Service through your account
  • Using another person's account credentials to access the Service
  • Purchasing or selling account access

2.2 Content Downloading and Redistribution

  • Downloading, recording, capturing, or screenshotting audio tracks, video content, or course materials through any technical means
  • Redistributing, republishing, or sharing course content outside the Service, whether for free or for payment
  • Using screen recording software, audio capture tools, browser extensions, or any other technology to copy content
  • Circumventing digital rights management or content protection measures

2.3 Circumventing Security Measures

  • Attempting to bypass authentication, access controls, or security features
  • Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service or any associated system or network
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Attempting to access content, accounts, or data that you are not authorized to access
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities rather than reporting them

2.4 Harassment and Discrimination

  • Harassing, bullying, intimidating, or threatening other users
  • Engaging in discriminatory conduct based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic
  • Stalking or systematically monitoring another user's activity
  • Doxxing or sharing another person's private information without their consent
  • Sending unwanted or repeated messages to other users after being asked to stop

2.5 Automated Access and Bots

  • Using bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the Service
  • Systematically downloading or extracting data from the Service
  • Automating interactions with the Service, including community features, quizzes, or progress tracking
  • Creating fake accounts through automated means

2.6 Unauthorized Commercial Use

  • Using the Service or its content for any commercial purpose without a written license from Kompunik
  • Reselling access to the Service or any part of it
  • Using content from the Service in commercial training programs, consulting materials, or paid publications without authorization
  • Using the Kompunik brand, logo, or trademarks for commercial purposes without written permission

2.7 Impersonation

  • Impersonating another user, a Kompunik employee, or any other person or entity
  • Creating accounts with misleading names or profile information intended to deceive others
  • Falsely claiming affiliation with any person or organization

2.8 Spam and Unsolicited Content

  • Posting repetitive, unsolicited, or irrelevant content in community spaces
  • Sending bulk or automated messages to other users
  • Posting advertisements, promotional materials, or commercial solicitations in community features
  • Manipulating engagement metrics (e.g., creating multiple accounts to vote on posts)

2.9 Malicious Software and Activities

  • Uploading, transmitting, or distributing malware, viruses, worms, or other malicious code
  • Engaging in phishing or social engineering attacks targeting other users
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or personal data

3. Community Guidelines

Our community features -- including posts, circles, challenges, practice rooms, and the ambassador program -- are designed to support collaborative learning. When participating in community features, you agree to:

3.1 Be Constructive

  • Share insights, experiences, and perspectives that contribute to learning
  • Provide helpful and specific feedback when responding to others
  • Keep discussions relevant to soft skills development and professional growth
  • Use community features for their intended purpose (e.g., challenges for skill-building, practice rooms for peer coaching)

3.2 Be Respectful

  • Treat all community members with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or opinions
  • Disagree respectfully and engage with ideas rather than attacking individuals
  • Acknowledge and respect different viewpoints and cultural perspectives
  • Support newcomers and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere

3.3 Be Honest

  • Share your genuine experiences and perspectives
  • Do not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or achievements
  • Give proper credit when referencing others' ideas or work
  • Report inaccurate or misleading content when you encounter it

3.4 Respect Privacy

  • Do not share information from private circles or conversations publicly
  • Do not share another user's personal information without their explicit consent
  • Respect the confidentiality of practice room discussions
  • Be mindful of what you share about colleagues, clients, or organizations

4. Content Standards

All content you create, share, or post through the Service must comply with the following standards:

4.1 No Hate Speech

Content must not promote or incite hatred, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic.

4.2 No Violence or Threats

Content must not contain threats of violence, glorify violence, or encourage violent behavior toward any person or group.

4.3 No Adult or Explicit Content

Content must not include sexually explicit material, pornography, or graphic depictions of nudity.

4.4 No Illegal Activity

Content must not promote, encourage, or facilitate illegal activity, including but not limited to drug use, fraud, theft, or intellectual property infringement.

4.5 No Misinformation

Content must not contain deliberate misinformation intended to deceive other users. In the context of soft skills learning, share evidence-based practices and personal experiences honestly.

4.6 No Personal Information

Content must not include personal information of third parties (such as phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, or financial information) without their explicit consent.


5. Enforcement

Kompunik reserves the right to take enforcement action against any user who violates this Policy. Enforcement actions are proportional to the severity and frequency of violations.

5.1 Enforcement Progression

Violations are addressed through a graduated enforcement process:

  1. Warning: A written notification informing you of the policy violation and requesting compliance. Warnings may be accompanied by the removal of the offending content.

  2. Content Removal: Removal of content that violates this Policy. You will be notified when content is removed and given the reason for removal.

  3. Temporary Suspension: Temporary restriction of your access to some or all features of the Service, typically ranging from one (1) to thirty (30) days depending on the severity of the violation.

  4. Permanent Ban: Permanent termination of your account and all access to the Service. Permanent bans are reserved for severe or repeated violations.

5.2 Immediate Action

Kompunik reserves the right to skip steps in the enforcement progression and take immediate action, including permanent bans, for severe violations such as:

  • Threats of physical violence
  • Distribution of malware
  • Sharing of child exploitation material
  • Systematic harassment campaigns
  • Fraudulent activity

5.3 Content Moderation

Community content is subject to our automated and human moderation systems. Content may be automatically flagged, held for review, or removed based on our moderation pipeline. Moderation decisions can be appealed through the process described in Section 6.

5.4 Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at contact@kompunik.org within fourteen (14) days of the action. Include your username, a description of the action taken, and your reasoning for the appeal. We will review your appeal and respond within ten (10) business days.


6. Reporting Violations

6.1 How to Report

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this Policy, you can report it through:

  • In-app reporting: Use the report button available on posts, comments, and user profiles within the Service
  • Email: Contact us at contact@kompunik.org with details of the violation

6.2 What to Include

When reporting a violation, please provide:

  • The username of the person involved
  • A description of the violation
  • Screenshots or links to the relevant content, if available
  • The date and time of the incident, if applicable

6.3 Confidentiality

Reports are treated confidentially. We do not disclose the identity of the reporter to the person being reported unless required by law or necessary for the investigation.

6.4 Good Faith Reporting

We expect all reports to be made in good faith. Misusing the reporting system to harass, intimidate, or silence other users is itself a violation of this Policy.

Beta-Specific Terms

Experimental Nature

This platform is an experimental prototype. Features may change, be removed, or malfunction without notice. No guarantee of availability, uptime, or performance is provided.

Data Handling

Data collected during the beta may be deleted at the end of the beta period. While we take reasonable care to protect your data, no guarantees are made regarding data persistence or backup.

Feedback Usage

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide during the beta may be used to improve the product without compensation or attribution.

No Financial Compensation

Participation in the beta is voluntary and unpaid. No financial compensation, credits, or refunds are applicable.

Limitation of Liability

Joss Gillet (Founder of Kompunik) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this beta platform. Use is entirely at your own risk.

Confidentiality (Optional)

You may encounter features or content that are not yet publicly available. While not legally binding, we kindly ask that you treat unreleased features with discretion.

No Commercial Relationship

This beta does not constitute a commercial service, contract, or subscription. No invoices will be issued, and no service-level agreements apply.
