Honor Code
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
This Honor Code establishes the principles of integrity, honesty, and mutual respect that underpin the Kompunik learning community. By using the Kompunik platform (the "Service"), you agree to uphold these principles.
1. Introduction
Kompunik is a learning community built on trust. The value of our courses, assessments, certificates, and community interactions depends on every member's commitment to honest participation.
Soft skills are uniquely personal. Unlike technical knowledge that can be measured through right-or-wrong answers, soft skills development requires genuine self-reflection, honest self-assessment, and authentic engagement. Cheating in a soft skills program ultimately cheats only yourself -- it undermines the personal growth that is the entire purpose of the learning experience.
We ask every member of our community to engage with integrity, not because of rules, but because honest participation is the only way to genuinely develop your soft skills.
2. Academic Integrity
2.1 Quizzes and Assessments
When completing quizzes and assessments on the platform, you agree to:
- Complete work independently: Answer quiz questions and assessments based on your own knowledge, understanding, and reflection. Do not copy answers from other users or external sources.
- Do not share answers: Do not share quiz questions, answers, or assessment content with other users, whether through the platform, external messaging, social media, or any other means.
- Do not use AI to answer for you: While Kompunik integrates AI features into certain parts of the platform (such as the community AI writing assistant), you must not use external AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to generate answers for quizzes and assessments. The purpose of these assessments is to measure your personal understanding and reflection.
- No unauthorized assistance: Do not use study aids, notes, or reference materials during assessments unless the assessment explicitly permits their use.
2.2 Questionnaires
Self-assessment questionnaires are designed to help you understand your current skill level. Answer them honestly based on how you actually think, feel, and behave -- not how you wish you did or think you should. There are no "right" or "wrong" answers in self-assessments.
2.3 Course Progression
The course progression system (including skill unlock sequences and pillar requirements) is designed to provide a structured learning experience. Do not attempt to circumvent progression requirements through technical manipulation or exploitation of platform features.
3. Self-Assessment Honesty
3.1 The Constellation Map
Your constellation map is a personal visualization of your soft skills profile, generated from your self-assessment responses. The accuracy and usefulness of this map depends entirely on honest self-reflection.
When completing self-assessments:
- Reflect genuinely on your actual behaviors, reactions, and tendencies
- Do not inflate your scores to appear more skilled than you are
- Do not deflate your scores to manipulate peer comparison data
- Consider feedback from colleagues, friends, and family as you reflect
3.2 Peer Comparison
If your organization has enabled peer comparison, your anonymized scores may be aggregated with other users' scores to provide benchmarking data. Dishonest self-assessment distorts these benchmarks and undermines the value of the feature for everyone.
3.3 Evolving Self-Awareness
Your self-assessment results may change over time as you develop greater self-awareness through the learning program. This is expected and encouraged. Revisiting assessments with deeper understanding is a sign of growth, not inconsistency.
4. Certificate Authenticity
4.1 Earning Certificates
Certificates of completion are awarded when you have genuinely completed all required course components, including questionnaires, audio tracks, and quizzes, meeting the minimum passing requirements.
4.2 Certificate Integrity
You agree to the following:
- No falsification: You may not forge, alter, or create fraudulent certificates, nor modify any information on a legitimately issued certificate
- No transfer: Certificates are issued to the individual who completed the coursework and may not be attributed to, used by, or presented as belonging to any other person
- Accurate representation: When displaying or sharing your certificate, you must accurately represent what it signifies. A Kompunik certificate is a certificate of completion for a soft skills development program; it is not an academic degree, professional license, or formal qualification unless explicitly stated otherwise
- Verification: Each certificate includes a unique verification identifier. Employers, institutions, or other parties may verify the authenticity of a certificate through the Kompunik public verification system
4.3 Revocation
Kompunik reserves the right to revoke certificates if it is determined that the certificate was obtained through:
- Cheating or academic dishonesty
- Sharing or copying answers
- Using unauthorized tools to complete assessments
- Any other violation of this Honor Code
Revoked certificates will be marked as invalid in the public verification system. You will be notified if a certificate is revoked and given an opportunity to explain the circumstances.
5. Community Trust
5.1 Honest Contributions
When participating in community features (posts, circles, challenges, practice rooms, and the ambassador program):
- Share your genuine experiences, insights, and reflections
- Do not fabricate scenarios, achievements, or experiences
- Contribute authentically to discussions rather than posting content designed solely to earn badges or points
- Engage meaningfully with challenges and practice rooms rather than rushing through them
5.2 No Plagiarism
- Present your own ideas and experiences in your posts and responses
- If you reference or are inspired by someone else's ideas, give appropriate credit
- Do not copy another user's posts, responses, or reflections and present them as your own
- Do not use AI tools to generate community posts that you present as your own personal reflections (the platform's built-in AI writing assistant is designed to help you refine your own thoughts, not replace them)
5.3 Cite Sources
When referencing research, articles, frameworks, or other external materials in community discussions, provide appropriate attribution. This helps maintain the quality and credibility of our learning community.
6. No Impersonation
- Do not impersonate another user, instructor, or Kompunik staff member
- Do not create accounts using false identities
- Do not present another person's work, achievements, or credentials as your own
- Do not use another person's account or allow someone else to use yours
7. Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Honor Code are taken seriously and are addressed through proportional enforcement actions:
7.1 Graduated Response
Warning: A written notification identifying the specific violation, with guidance on expected behavior going forward.
Assessment Reset: For assessment-related violations, specific quiz scores or questionnaire responses may be reset, requiring you to retake the affected components honestly.
Certificate Revocation: If a violation is related to the completion of a course, the associated certificate may be revoked and marked as invalid in the verification system. You may be given the opportunity to re-earn the certificate by retaking the affected components.
Account Suspension: Temporary or permanent suspension of your account, depending on the severity and frequency of violations. During suspension, access to all course content, community features, and certificates is restricted.
7.2 Factors Considered
When determining the appropriate response, we consider:
- The severity of the violation
- Whether it was a first-time or repeat offense
- Whether the violation was intentional or inadvertent
- The impact on other users and the community
7.3 Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at contact@kompunik.org within fourteen (14) days. Include a description of the situation and any relevant context.
8. Our Commitment
Kompunik is committed to:
- Providing clear and fair assessment criteria
- Designing assessments that encourage genuine reflection rather than rote memorization
- Protecting the integrity and value of our certificates
- Applying this Honor Code consistently and fairly across all users
- Responding to reports and appeals in a timely manner
