Motivation & Friction

Motivation and friction identify what drives you toward a skill and what holds you back. It shapes your coaching insights but is deliberately excluded from your score, because it measures preference, not capability.

Motivation and friction map what pulls you toward a skill and what gets in the way — the blockers, incentives, and internal resistance around putting it into practice.

Its role in your Kompunik score

Unlike the capability layers, this one is excluded from your constellation score. The governing rule is that anything measuring preference rather than capability must not move the score. Instead, it powers your personalised insights and coaching — explaining why a skill is easy or hard for you, not how good you are at it.
