Did You Know? Your Constellation Map Reveals Your Strengths

February 21, 2026·2 min read

One of the most powerful features on Kompunik is the constellation map, a visual representation of your soft skill levels displayed as an interactive radial chart. It turns your self-assessment data into an intuitive picture of your strengths and growth areas.

How It Works

Every time you complete a self-assessment questionnaire for a skill, your answers are processed through a weighted scoring engine. The result is a score from 0 to 100, which is then translated into a skill level from 1 to 5.

  • Level 1 (Novice): Score 0-19. You are just beginning to explore this skill
  • Level 2 (Beginner): Score 20-39. You have some awareness and early habits
  • Level 3 (Intermediate): Score 40-59. You practice this skill regularly with some consistency
  • Level 4 (Advanced): Score 60-79. You demonstrate strong capability in most situations
  • Level 5 (Expert): Score 80-100. You apply this skill naturally and can teach others

The Radial Chart

All 28 skills are plotted on a circular SVG chart, organized by their four pillars. Each skill is represented as a star, positioned at a distance from the center that corresponds to its level. Higher levels push the star further out.

  • Four pillar sectors: The chart is divided into four sectors, one for each pillar, with colored connection polygons
  • Concentric guide circles: Five concentric rings mark levels 1 through 5
  • Your avatar: Your personalized avatar sits at the center of the constellation
  • Hover tooltips: Hover over any star to see the skill name, level, and exact score

Peer Comparison

The constellation map supports three layers of comparison so you can see how your profile relates to others. Each comparison appears as a ghost polygon overlaid on your chart.

  • Global comparison: A white dashed polygon showing the average scores of all platform users with similar demographics
  • Organization comparison: A blue dashed polygon showing the average scores within your organization
  • Team comparison: A green dashed polygon showing the average scores of your assigned team members

Each comparison is toggled independently with a button. The system uses progressive demographic relaxation to ensure a minimum of 5 peers in each comparison group, starting by relaxing education level, then gender, age range, and so on.

Download and Share

You can download your constellation as a high-quality PNG image using the download button. The exported image includes your name, the date, and a Kompunik copyright footer. You can also share your constellation snapshot on your public profile page.

Weighted Scoring

Not all questions contribute equally to your score. The scoring engine assigns different weights based on evidence type:

  • Behavioral frequency (1.3x): Questions about how often you practice a behavior
  • Scenario reaction (1.2x): Questions about how you would respond in specific situations
  • Metacognition (1.0x): Questions about your awareness of your own thought processes
  • Self-perception (0.8x): Questions about how you see yourself generally

This weighting ensures that concrete evidence of competence counts more than abstract self-assessments.
